The hotel’s architectural design also takes into account the layering of the rainforest, with the unique ecology of the forest floor to the canopy subtly reflected in the design of the guestrooms, paying homage to the richness of nature’s biodiversity.

The hotel has 338 rooms, including standard rooms and the distinctive Treehouse. Whichever room type you choose, you can enjoy stunning views of the lush greenery or the Upper Seletar Reservoir. The 338 guest rooms at the Rainforest Resort include Standard Rooms and the most desirable Treehouse. Whichever type of room you choose, the rooms are designed with a “pro-life” philosophy, incorporating elements of nature, with views of the verdant gardens or the upper section of the open Pitcher Cistern. In-room amenities include comfortable beds with quality bedding, air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea bags, private bathrooms with showers (some rooms have bathtubs), Banyan Tree’s signature bathroom amenities, and free Wi-Fi.

According to the official website, the main room types are as follows:

1. Sanctuary Rooms / Retreat Rooms.
* Sanctuary Twin / King: The hotel’s base room type, offering a choice of twin or king size beds. The design is simple and comfortable, with natural colors and materials, and a pleasant view from the window. In terms of size, the Sanctuary Twin, for example, is approximately 36 square meters (about 388 square feet).
* Family Sanctuary / Family Retreat: Designed for families, the Sanctuary is usually equipped with a bunk bed in addition to a king-size bed, making it convenient for large families. They are slightly larger than standard rooms, for example, the Family Sanctuary is about 44 square meters (about 474 square feet) and has a view of the reservoir.

2. Mandai Treehouse (豪華樹屋 / Grand Mandai Treehouse).
This is the hotel’s signature room type! The unique design of the Treehouse provides a more private and luxurious accommodation experience. The Grand Mandai Treehouse offers breathtaking views of the upper section of the Sakina Reservoir, a private terrace, luxurious Banyan Tree facilities and perhaps even an advanced motion system for a truly unique experience. Sizes are also generous, with the Grand Mandai Treehouse, for example, reaching 63 square meters (approximately 678 square feet).

Guest experience and notes:
* Choice of View: When booking, you can pay attention to the view of different room types, such as garden view or water pond view, the view of the Treehouse should be more open.
* Mosquitoes: Although there are anti-mosquito measures in the room, being in the rainforest, be careful of mosquitoes when opening and closing the balcony doors and windows.
* Soundproofing: Newer hotels usually have good soundproofing, but if you are sensitive to sound, check with the hotel or ask for a quieter location.

The type of room you choose depends a lot on your budget and the purpose of your trip. If you want to experience the most unique rainforest accommodation, a tree house is the first choice; if you are traveling with a family, a family room with bunk beds is very practical. Either way, waking up surrounded by nature is an unforgettable experience.

Rainforest Resort Prices

When it comes to new hotels, one of the most important things that everyone is concerned about is the price! Banyan Tree Mandai Rainforest Resort is positioned as a luxury resort, so naturally, the price will not be too affordable. However, considering its unique location, the Banyan Tree brand and the immersive rainforest experience, it’s a matter of opinion whether it’s worth it or not. Rates start from HK$2,170 per night for a 36 square meter Standard Double Room (2 single beds), which is not too expensive for a new hotel.

How to get a better price?
* Beware of special offers on official websites: The official websites of hotels usually offer different accommodation packages, such as opening offers, stay-only offers, early booking offers and so on. For example, there is “An Awakening in Nature – Opening Special” offer on the official website, which provides up to 20% discount on room rates (the offer is valid until June 30, 2025, subject to official announcement).
* Compare different booking platforms: Apart from the official website, you can also compare the rates of major hotel booking platforms (e.g. Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, etc.), and sometimes you may find a better deal.
* Become a member of a hotel group: Join Banyan Tree or its partners (e.g. Accor Live Limitless, as Banyan Tree has a partnership with Accor) to enjoy exclusive member rates or bonus points.
* Avoid peak seasons: Hotel rates are usually higher during Singapore’s peak travel seasons, school holidays or major exhibitions. If time permits, travel during the off-season or stay on weekdays for a more affordable rate.

Conclusion:
The price of the Mandai Rainforest Resort is in the mid-to-high end of the scale, especially for the Treehouse room type. Considering its uniqueness and brand name, the price is understandable. We recommend you to do your homework before booking and compare the prices and offers from different channels to see which one suits your budget and needs best. In the end, it’s an unforgettable rainforest luxury experience, and if you can enjoy it at a good price, it’s even better!
